#3 "Tis
the Season to Hit the Pause Button"
What’s
disturbing your peace this holiday season?
Road rage?
Too many obligations? Lack of consensus about gift giving with
your family? Trying to cram in year-end work, be Santa’s helper
or Martha Stewart’s apprentice? I wonder how this frenzy might
be calmed. The pressure, guilt and go-go-go busyness is like an
act of disturbing the peace that we could experience in our
hearts and with each other.
This won’t be
a long essay, because I do appreciate how swamped you may feel.
No time for cute stories or potentially annoying questions about
your legacy right now. And, let’s all take five minutes to hit
the pause button and reclaim some peace.
Breathe and
take time to ask yourself, “What truly matters most to me?” If
you get to create this holiday season--- what would you
love to experience/be feeling?
What will it
take to create more of that? (A new perspective? A request?
Letting some things go? Permission? Forgiveness? Taking a
stand? Or more flexibility? Watching the ending of the movie
“Love Actually”- all those hugs at the airport? Ho ho ho.)
Breathe once
more and know that all is well, you are loved, you’re doing your
best and peace is possible by choosing it.
I wish you
joy and whatever your holiday season is meant to be for you.
Have fun.
Happy
Holidays!
May we be
at peace.
May our
hearts remain open.
May we be
healed.
May we
awaken to the light
Of our own
true nature.
